Rangers: Wait no more, win pennant tonight
As the Texas Rangers get ready to take on the New York Yankees at home, in the Rangers Ballpark, players are warming up for what could be, the last American League Championship match of the season. The hosts are already up with 3 wins in the series and require
just another to progress through to the finals. Colby Lewis will feature for the side against the visitors and there will be one thing on the Texans mind: Finish the match in style and progress through to the next stage.
The Yankees have been upbeat by their effort of pouncing on the Rangers in the last encounter, but that was due to Carsten Charles Sabathia’s presence on the mound. If the Texans come out strong, Joe Girardi will require his hitters to be up to the task
to go out blasting Colby Lewis on the mound.
Third baseman, Michael Young was on the scene to comment on the match and the series before his 2 hour work out regiment, “Game 7 is completely off our radar. We're going all out for Game 6. You're never playing house money in the playoffs. You get after
every game, and that's the way we approach it.”
Fortunately for Texas manager, Ron Washington, Cliff Lee will be available for the 7th game if the match goes the other way for the hosts. The plan is set to trap the Yankees and with Lee being ready for the last game, there is nothing to be afraid
of in the current game as the two sides go up against each other tonight.
Outfielder, David Murphy is another player to comment on the situation as the team gets ready for game 6 in the American League Championship: “If the worst-case scenario occurred and we did have to go to a Game 7, we'd be in a great spot with Cliff going.
The Yankees are a great team. There's nothing that is guaranteed. Cliff has been amazing, but there's no such thing as automatic in professional sports. Teams are going to come out and fight and play hard every game.”
