Rangers boss Ally McCoist to ask Andre Villas-Boas for Chelsea players
Scottish side Rangers manager Ally McCoist revealed he was currently working at strengthening his squad before the start of the new season and that he was planning to ask new Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas about the availability of players who were unlikely
to feature regularly for the English Premier League giants in the upcoming season.
McCoist and the young Portuguese manager first crossed paths at a coaching course they were both attending. They recently met again when the Blues faced Rangers in their last pre-season fixture, which the London side went on to win 3-1. The English Premier
League giants secured the impressive win despite being a goal down to the Scottish champions.
The Rangers manager admitted his side needed reinforcements and said he was considering speaking to Villas-Boas about acquiring some http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 players in the summer transfer window. Quite a few of the Chelsea players have been linked with a Stamford Bridge
exit, but without an official offer they are most likely going to remain with the London side.
In addition to bringing in more players, McCoist revealed he was pleased with the fact that the young Arsenal striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 for another season. The 20-year-old central defender joined Rangers on loan in the January
transfer window in 2011 and so far has made 9 appearances in all competitions and has found the back of the net once.
McCoist said in an interview:
“I had a good chat with Andre before the game and I am going to see him now and we will talk about out a few things.
But obviously when you get somebody of the quality of Kyle Bartley coming in, that's a great thing as you can see.”
While the youngster does not have too much first team experience, McCoist was confident his decision to stay would help the club and the player. Bartley is most likely to get much needed first team experience at Rangers than he would get at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and the
Scottish side will also benefit with the talented defender present in their squad.
McCoist confirmed he was using his contacts to try and bring in players, who he felt would be good for the club in the upcoming season. The new Chelsea manager is only one of the contacts McCoist has currently contacted and is planning to pursue, knowing
he has players in his squad that he can manage to do without.
McCoist said:
“But it would be ridiculous of me not to use the good contacts that I have and I will certainly use every contact that I have to bring in the best players available to the club.”
The Rangers boss continued:
“We are working very hard to get players in.
I am as hopeful as the next man but time will tell. There is no point in me getting frustrated.”
