Rangi Chase is all set to represent England in Four Nations Series - Rugby
While talking to reporters on Thursday, October 20, the New Zealand born Rangi Chase said that he stop the mounting speculations from critics’ regarding his loyalties to the England squad , which is all ready to clash in Gillette Four Nations Series.
The Man of Steel 2011 will has made it clear he will represent England in Friday’s clash against France to prove his mettle. His inclusion in McNamara’s squad has been met with mixed views because the prop had played against English side while playing for
the Maoris and the Exiles during the past twelve months.
However, despite the mounting confusion regarding Chase’s uptake for the English squad, the prop’s confidence is not dampened and he is taking the given opportunity to its maximum potential.
While speaking about his new role, Chase said, "I'm here to do a job, to help England win and I'm 100% behind them. Playing with the quality players in the England squad will probably bring the best out of me and hopefully vice versa.”
Meanwhile McNamara and Mark Bitcon, the strength and conditioning coach, spent Wednesday watching the National Football League (NFL) team, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, play, in hopes of gathering some useful tips to be incorporated into their own games.
The Buchaneers called over the English players into the training camps at their Pennyhill Park base in Surrey, where they will prepare for the Sunday's clash with the Chicago Bears at Wembley.
While speaking about this opportunity, McNamara said, "It's an opportunity for me and Mark to understand and learn from other mainstream sports. We always like to benchmark ourselves against other sports and this is a perfect opportunity to see how athletes
in one of the most physically demanding competitions such as the NFL operate. I am sure we can learn some new ideas and techniques that we can implement in our own training programmes."
The English head coach explained that they were watching NFL in order to match up their game to the main stream games’ standard. It was acknowledged by the coach that this will help the players improve their game overall.
