Rangi Chase still friends' with Benji Marshall - Gillette Four Nations news

While talking to reporters on Saturday, November 12, Rangi Chase of England insisted that he is still friends’ with Benji Marshall despite battling on opposing fronts during the sudden-death showdown of the  Gillette Four Nations over the weekend, which
ended in an impressive 28-6 win for the English side over New Zealand.
Chase had opted to play for England instead of his own country, New Zealand, which has ended up in his favour, as he will be now treading into the Four Nations to final against the series’ favourites, Australia. With this win in hand, the player has achieved
what he had been aimed for but the embattled side  is not very happy, because deep down they know that things would have ended up differently if Chase had played for the Kiwis’ side.
Commenting about his side’s performance, Chase stated, “We’re still mates, no matter what happens on the field. We had a bit of a dust-up there, a couple of run-ins at times. But he's upset because I'm not playing for them and am on the other side. I fully
understand how the boys feel, but I have my reasons why I'm here. I've said them all along from the start.I expected that they would (try and intimidate him). They're passionate and I will step up to the challenge any time. There are no ill feelings. What
happens on the field has to stay there."
He further added that he needed to raise him game to make a mark at the next level.
England had established an early lead in the weekend game, which featured brilliant performance from England. Tom Briscoe, Sam Tomkins, Ryan Hall, Tom Briscoe and James Graham managed to touch down at the line at very crucial moments in the game. This was
coupled with the man-of-the-match winning performance of Kevin Sinfield, who booted the goal six times and was the centre of attention for his exceptional on-field presence.
Chase acknowledged that the English side had stuck to their game plan, which had helped them in achieving the desirable outcome in Saturday’s game, which has booked their berth in the final showdown of Gillette Four Nations Campaign.
