1. Jimmy Rollins - Pretty much does it all Homeruns, RBI's, Singles, Doubles, Triples, Stolen Bases, and the reigning MVP. Not even mentioning his defensive acheivements.

2. Hanley Ramirez - He's good w/ the glove, and hits homeruns, he'll be good but not as good as Rollins.

3. Yunel Escobar - Is pretty good.

4. Jose Reyes - Way Overrated, and showboats a ton, just like the rest of the mets. Don't like him.

  1. 1. Jimmy Rollins - great lead off hitter, better than average speed, spark plug and leader for the phillies

    2. Jose Reyes - I totally agree with you that he is overrated and a showboat but he is a top player and is very valuable to the mets. I don't like him either but you can't ignore talent

    3. Hanley Ramirez - very good power and clutch hitter. i wouldn't say he is good with the glove though...he had over 25 errors last season

    4. Yunel Escobar - not bad...like you said hes pretty good.

  2. agree with everything you said, yes reyes plays in new york so automatically he is looked at better then something he actually is

  3. Based on this year alone.

    1.Ramirez

    2.Rollins

    3.Escobar

    4.Reyes

    Based on their career

    1.Rollins

    2.Ramirez

    3.Reyes

    4.Escobar

  4. 1.) Hanley Ramirez: His glove isn't the best, but he makes it up with his bat. He has very good speed (around 40 stolen bases a year) and great power (around 30 homeruns a year). He also bats for a very good average (.300, possibly even in the .330's). He has a very good OBP (around the .370 mark).

    2) Jimmy Rollins: He is a gold glove fielder. He hase very good speed (around 40 stolen bases). He has decent power (around 20 homeruns). He doesn't really bat for a average (around .275, if he is lucky he could bat around .290). Not a very good OBP for a lead-off man (around .333).

3.) Yunel Escobar: He is a young player. Not much of a base stealer (around 10 a year). He has slightly below average power for a lead-off man (around 10 homeruns a year). He has a good average (around .300, if he stays healthy he could bat around .325). Has a good OBP (around the .370-.380 mark). He has an above average glove (fielding % around .980).

4.) Jose Reyes: Very overrated. He has very good speed (around 55-65 stolen bases a year). He has slightly below average power for a lead-off man (around 10 homeruns a year). He has an decent average (around .280-.290). He has a averege OBP for a lead-off man (around .350). He doesn't have much of a glove (around a .965 fielding percentage).

5.) Cristian Guzman: He doesn't have much speed (around 5 stolen bases a year). He has very bad power (around 5 homeruns a year). He can sometime bat for average (around .300), but he mostly has a not very good average (around .265). He has a very bad OBP (around .305). He is an ok fielder (around a .970 fielding percentage).

        Overall Grade: +++ (A+)

    2. Hanley Ramirez - Florida Marlins

  8. wow, a phillie-ranger fan..... according to this year, this is the order

    hanram

    reyes

    escobar

    guzman

    rollins

  9. 1. Hanley Ramirez

    2. Rollins

    3) Reyes

    4) Escobar

Hanley is one of the hottest players in basbeball right now. and btw reyes can swing the bat :)

  10. Hanley Ramirez

    Jose Reyes

    Jimmy Rollins

    Yunel Escobar.

  11. 1. Ramirez

    2. Rollins

    3. Reyes

    4. Escobar

  12. 1 HANLEY RAMIREZ - young, fast, ALL-STAR starter

2 Jimmy Rollins- fast, powerful, consistent

3 Jose Reyes- hits for average, a lot of triples and doubles

4 Yunel Escobar- way too young to decide yet

  13. ramirez

    rollins

    reyes

    guzman

    escobar

hanley is the complete package, but is still really young. in a few years, the appropriate question will be who is 2nd best after him.

reyes may be overrated, but he is still a good hitter who will put up numbers.

  14. Based upon this year's stats or just overall?

    1. Hanley Ramirez.  His HR totals are good, but this year he hasn't been as good as both Rollins and Reyes with the glove (.960 fielding percentage compared to .984 and .967, respectively)  I like his high OBP too.

    2. Jose Reyes.  Reyes is on pace to beat all his stat totals last year except stolen bases.  His OBP is higher than both Rollins, Escobar, and Guzman and he is showing more power this season.  Decent glove too.  The stats are all there.

    3. Jimmy Rollins.  No telling what he could've done this year if he wasn't injured, but his stats are considerably lower than his two other counterparts except for his excellent fielding.  His slugging is a full .100 points lower than last year too.

    4. Yunel Escobar.  His offensive capabilities are low if best, but he has a decent OBP for a number 1 or 2 hitter and he has good fielding (.980).  Compared to the offensive power of the top 3, nowhere near the top.

    5. Cristian Guzman.  I don't like the fact he's batting above .300 and his OBP is only around .330.  He's doing much better this season however.

  15. Reyes overrated?  Do you even pay attention to baseball?

  16. 1. Jimmy Rollins-I agree with you.  He can do it all!  Good defense and better offense.  Numbers would inflate like a balloon if he batted 3rd.

    2. Hanley Ramirez- Like him cuz he's simply better than Reyes.  Has 40/40 potential. Ton of speed and in a ok Florida lineup.  Unlike Rollins and Reyes, Hanley gotta work for his numbers.

    3. Jose Reyes- Regardless of how much he showboats, he is top 3 for sure. He's been steady for quite awhile now and one of the fastest guys in all of baseball.  Jose leads NL shortstops in RBIs, 2nd in Runs, 2nd in Hits, 1st in triples, 1st in SB and 4th in home runs.  This guy is neck and neck with Rolins in at about every category. I wouldnt call this guy overrated.

    4. I wanna say Miguel Tejada.  Just cuz i know that he's slumping bad rite now and i know he has the power to hit .330.  His home run power have faded however.

Conclusion: THat's aobut it. Honorable Mention to Ryan Theriot and JJ Hardy.  Also, I hope you didn't ask this question just to bring up the point Jose Reyes is overrated.

EDIT: Ooopsie!! NL East, you know i was gonna say Guzman before Tejada, but Guzman doesnt have a prestige background.  He can cave any year.  I like Escobar 4th i suppose.

  17. 1. Rollins

    2. Ramirez

    3. Reyes

    4. Escobar

  18. Rollins

    Ramirez

Guzman/Escobar (about on the same level)

Reyes has raw talent, too bad his head is up his butt half the time.

  19. Based on this year alone...

1 Ramirez- No question on this one

2 Reyes- Overrated, but he's still in line for another big year.

3Guzman- Remember...he was an all star

4Rollins- He's not having his best year.

5Escobar-Not saying he's bad, just everyone else is better

  20. 1. Hanley 2. Jimmy 3. Jose 4.Christian 5. Yunel

  21. Henley Ramirez is insane too bad he doesn't play for a larger market team...

Jose Reyes....just a very exciting player and i don't think he is overrated at all

Jimmy Rollins, great player but not as good as the top two...

Yunel Escobar, will be really good in the future

  22. obviously a philly fan here becuase you put reyes 4th and rollins 1st meanwhile it should be ramirez first and im saying that as a met fan
