Mohammad Rafique, Murali Karthik, Monty Panesar, Paul Harris, Brad Hogg, Daniel Vettori, Sanath Jayasuriya, Suliemann Benn, Asif Karim (of Kenya), Raymond Price.

(Ascending order means worst bowler first and best at the end.)

Give reasons where possible.

  2. Bowling in test match is more concerned about taking 20 wickets of other team, economy rate being less important. In ODI, wicket taking is important but economy in bowling is also important. hence, you got to have different order for both the situations.

    Test Match Situation:

Jayasuriya; Brad Hogg; Md. Rafique; Murali Kartik; Daniel Vettori; Paul Harris; Raymond Price; Suleiman Benn; Monty Panesar. Aasif Karim did not play a test match.

    ODI Situation:

Raymond Price; Jayasuriya; Paul Harris; Aasif Karim; Suleiman Benn; Murali Kartik; Monty Panesar; Md. Rafique; Daniel Vettori; Brad Hogg.

  3. Suliemann Benn,

    Asif Karim

    Mohammad Rafique,

    Murali Karthik,

    Raymond Price.

    Sanath Jayasuriya,

    Monty Panesar,

    Paul Harris,

    Brad Hogg,

    Daniel Vettori,

  4. 1) Asif Karim 2) Suliemann Benn 3) Raymond price 4) Mohammad Rafique  5) Murali Karthik  6) Brad Hogg 7) Paul Harris  8) Sanath Jayasuriya 9)Monty Panesar 10) Daniel Vettori.

Daniel Vettori is a very good turner of the ball.Monty uses flight and spin both to his advantage.Jayasuriya is an excellent economic bowler with his flight.Paul Harris has impressed recently.Brad Hogg did well in a few matches before he said goodbye to cricket.Murali does well sometimes.Others are ordinary.

  5. 1.Vettori - He improves daily. I think he is doing really well.

    2.Rafique ---

    3. Hogg

    4. Karthik

5.Jayasuriya (he had his day...:( )

    6. Price

    7. Karim

    8. HARRIS (There are better bowlers in SA... He really isnt that good!!!)

  6. 1) Aasif Karim- Decent bowler, good mixture of flight, always seemed to do well against the bigger teams.

    2) Ray Price- I was tempted to put him ahead of Suliemen Benn, Price was a good bowler, decent average in tests, and he had his moments, where he ran through teams.

    3) Suliemen Benn- He's not impressed in his short international career, although he has been very impressive in First Class cricket.

    4) Mohammad Rafique- Ive always had a soft spot for Rafique, he is almost always economical, and he can always bowl a tidy spell. Maybe he's not something special but he does job well.

    5) Paul Harris- Just a holding bowler, but he does his job well. He will never run through teams, but he can hold an end up, and he does take the odd wicket too.

    6) Sanath Jayasuriya- Very useful bowler, underrated in ODI's, he has a knack of taking wickets when relied upon. Jayasuriya can hold an end up as well as anyone in the world,

    7) Bradley Hogg- If he was more consistent then he would be at the top, he bowls a superb googly which has got many great batsmen out. His inconsistency is best shown when attacked again. He is a genuine wicket-taker though

    8) Murali Karthick- If he played more, he would be appreciated more. He is always deadly accurate, he has a good range of deliveries and pace, and he can take wickets. Shame he is so far down the pecking order.

    9) Monty Panesar- Duncan Fletcher rated him as the best finger spinner in the world, and although they were premature comments, it did show what an impression Panesar has had on everyone. He gets good batsmen out, he can turn the ball as much as any of the spinners in the list

    10) Daniel Vettori- The King of Craft, amazing flight, amazing accuracy, how do you score of this man? He is a wonderful bowler.

I dont think Karim was a bad bowler, but he just wasnt consistent against every team. He was a good bowler on his day, and he did a great job in the CWC 2003
