  1. Norwegian is probably the easiest of the langs for us Americans. The grammar is pretty simple, vocab is not all that complex. It ties for ease with Danish, that I would rank slightly harder -- the grammar is perhaps easier than Norwegian, but pronunciation is tougher. Then perhaps Swedish, Dutch etc.

The US State Department ranks languages into difficulty (i.e., length of time a diplomat would need to study to reach a proficiency level).  But their rankings are into large groups, and it is probably hard to fine tune the list into smaller groups.

  2. I will try my best to do this. Okay so my native language is English. I do have experience in some of these languages though. I will start with the easiest ones.

Norwegian(挪威语)(It has very easy verbs and it is a lot like english. I have learned some and it gets easier after you learn the basics.)

Danish(丹麦语)(it is a lot like norwegian)

Swedish(瑞典语)(It is a little harder than danish and norwegian but not very much.)

Persian(波斯语)(I have heard it has a very easy grammar and the verbs are easy too.)

Spanish (it has more complex verbs and so does all of the romance languages which are languages that are based off of latin)

    Portugese

    Italian

French (French and Italian have hard grammars.)

Afrikaans (It is basically the same as dutch)

    Dutch

    Korean

German (it has a case system and so do some other languages like russian)

    Romanian

    Greek

    Turkish

    Hebrew

    Russian

    Hungarian

    Finnish

    Arabic

    Thai

    Japanese

    Vietnamese

    Mandarin

    Minnanese

Cantonese (Dialects of Chinese are difficult because they have charactars and they have tones. Vietnamese has tones too.)
