Why is it that rather than measuring each other in qualities such as scholarly advancement, individuals have a need to associate others with the abstract attributes of race and religion when ranking within a society.

  1. It is in the human nature to: in the time of jealousy, or when one themselves are accused of something to blame someone else. Or even when scared...

Or if there is no answer to question, hatred of someone: all of the above are reasons for: rumours spreading,

asocciating and blaming cerain races and religion.

Stereotyping occurs when a repetitive incident occurs with people of the same race/religion.

I know...it is terrible.. but that  is what happens

  2. people are judged by scholarly achievement but there are things that get in the way

for example minorities and low income people tend not perform as well on standardized tests or have as many academic achievement

so to some when you say "judge on scholarly advancement" is basically the same as saying rich people on top everyone else on the bottom

i don't believe we should be "ranked" by our difference but i do think cultures need to be embraced

people theses days want to be nondiscriminatory and "color-blind"

but a "color-blind" outlook on life will never exist and never should... i think we should tolerate and except differences instead of trying to say that everyone is "equal"... when it simply isn't true

  3. I often wonder that very same thing.

It is human nature to make yourself feel better by placing your race, gender, economic status.....ect. above others. History is unfortunately in this case doomed to repeat on a constant reel. White Americans  rationalize their faults with thoughts like "at least I'm better than....a different race, the impoverish...ect." and others do this as well. There will always be the ignorant and those who strive to attain a pointless socio-economic status. It will also, unfortunately, remain an enigma, chalked up to society's fixation with perfection and one-uppedness.
