  1. go read the ****** book ur self u lazy idiot

  2. Ransom

    Author: Lois Duncan

Setting: The story takes place in New Mexico

Time: The story occurs during the winter.

Characters: Buck is one of the three people who are kidnapping the children. He is tempered easily. He doesn't really care for others much. Rita is Buck's wife. She is not very pretty and gets drug into schemes by Buck. She feels he will leave her if she doesn't follow directions. Juan is the other kidnapper who does more of the dirty work. He is the one who calls the parent...

    Plot

Tone of story - very upbeat

    Time/era of story: - 1980's-1999

Kid or adult book? - Adult or Young Adult Book

The crook is.... - criminal's rise in a crime organization

    Crime Thriller Yes

Crime plotlets: - escape/rescue from kidnappers

Even in the beginning while they're on the bus you start to get the feel for them and their troubles. Towards the end the characters helped me predict what might happen all though it was not always right. The setting plays a vital role in the story. If you noticed all the kids were chosen to be kidnapped because they were from Valley Gardens, a richer community. So they picked these kids because they thought they could get lots of ransom money. My third element is plot. The plot is effective because one event leads up to the next. It's also effective because it is well thought out and easy to understand. Over all I thought it was a great book and I think it would be fun to read another book written by Lois Duncan.
