Romanian side Rapid Bucharest are reportedly on the trail of FC Porto’s Cristian Săpunaru after the player fell down the pecking order at the helm.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jorge-Fucile-c19163 have taken over as the first-choice starters.
While that is a far cry from the days of Andre Villas-Boas, in which the player was amongst the first on the team sheet, it is a reality, which has worsened with the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danilo-c10159.
The Brazilian youngster is touted to be Porto’s investment in the future and has gathered notable attention while playing for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c40446 back in his homeland. As he needs game time to adjust into his new surroundings, the Dragons will have to sell one of their
wingbacks to accommodate him.
Săpunaru is the one who is set to be axed and according to reports, Rapid Bucharest are willing to offer him a return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Romania-c2990. The 27-year-old has previously played for the Feroviarii and would not find it difficult to settle in as he spent two years
there and also returned for a short spell on loan in 2010.
According to reports, Rapid coach George Copos is also open to idea of a potential transfer and has started negotiating with his Portuguese counterparts to seal the deal as soon as possible.
However all hopes of a move have been dashed by the player’s revelations, who said that Florin Marea was not his agent and that he was not going to be leaving Porto as no offers had been made.
Speaking to reporters, the former Naţional Bucureşti man said that he had no representative and was astonished at the fact that someone was pretending to be one and making up stories that he would part ways with the Portistas.
“There have been strange news recently, because I have no agent and therefore no one can speak for me. I find it strange that people are speaking of possible proposals and trying to promote themselves using my name and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186’s, “he said.
He also added that even if there was any chance of moving to a new club, he was unaware of it as the Azure e Brancos informed him and hadn’t done so yet.
“Any invitation or proposal that eventually emerges will always be sent to me by FC Porto, as I do not have an agent,” Cristian Săpunaru was quoted as saying.
Although a transfer in this window has been ruled out for the Romanian, he is still not an undisputed starter at Porto and could seek greener pastures elsewhere when the summer window reopens.
