Rapid blinking on my cordless phone base?

My phone is on base and the light that indecates it in use or charging is blinking fast what does this mean.

Most often this blinking light indicates the battery is not charging.

Remove the phone from the base. Open the battery compartment and disconnect the battery connector. Now reconnect it, close up the battery compartment and place it back on the base. It the light still blinks, your battery is dead and cannot be recharged.

Take the entire unit, base and all, to Radio Shack. They will have a replacement battery. They can put it in and check to see that the light stops blinking. The battery will need to be charged up when you get it back home, at least overnight, before it is ready for cordless use.
