Boris Rappoport has downplayed Zenit St. Petersburg’s chances of progression in the UEFA Champions League, saying that they will find it difficult to beat AC Milan and Malaga CF
Former Zenit St. Petersburg goalkeeping coach, Boris Rappoport, has provided the reasons behind the Brazilian International’s struggling form after joining the Russian Premier League club from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 this summer.
There is little arguing to the statement that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 during the summer transfer window. However, his proposed move to the St. Petersburg club has been earmarked
as a failure due to a couple of reasons.
Firstly, Hulk is finding life difficult in an unfamiliar Russian championship alongside a host of unknown foreign players. Though there are a lot of Brazilian players in Russia, Zenit are arguably the only club not to have one
except Hulk.
Secondly, players such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aleksandr-Kerzhakov-c4569 made it clear from the first day that they are not happy with Hulk’s arrival after threatening the St. Petersburg club to double their salaries to match the Brazilian
International’s massive wages.
However, Rappoport believes that it is only a matter of time when the 26-year-old attacker will overcome these barriers and justify his big price tag to maintain his impressive reputations.
“I think these wages stories negatively affected him. I think he proved himself to everyone else that he has the right to get more salary as compared to some of the top Russian players.” The former Dynamo St. Petersburg player
was quoted as saying.
Speaking on Zenit’s chances to progress to the later stages of the UEFA Champions League, Rappoport insisted that the defending league champions are in a situation where they will find it difficult to qualify for the knock-out
stages.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luciano-c22574 Spalletti’s charges had a nightmare start to the European campaign this term, having lost their opening two group stage matches against FC Malaga and AC Milan respectively.
It looked like they have overcome the situation after defeating http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RSC-Anderlecht-c40394 at home but they failed to find consistency in their performances after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat against the Belgian champions in the return leg.
