Toronto Raptors Vs Real Madrid
The Toronto Raptors were able to edge out a 102-95 victory against Real Madrid in a preseason exhibition game here at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. In what became a tightly fought contest, Toronto were able to outscore Real
Madrid 27-22 in the final period which gave them the eventual victory. The Raptors played without their two newest signings in Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas, but DeMar DeRozan scored 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the Raptors charge. John Lucas III scored
16 points coming off the bench and Andrea Bargnani finished with 14 points for the night. Nikola Mirotic was the top scorer for Real Madrid with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Martynas Pocius added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists off the bench.
Real Madrid started the high scoring game in full swing, scoring the first 14 points in less than four minutes and taking a six point lead over the Raptors. Toronto however, came back into the game to lead 29-22 at the end of the
first period. Real Madrid took the lead back in the middle of the second period, but it proved to be only temporary as Toronto regained the lead and closed the first half leading 50-48. The third period involved a number of lead changes as both teams fought
hard for control of the game, but Toronto stepped up their effort in the opening minutes of the final period to open up a lead which they then held till the end of regulation. The Raptors shot 43.8 percent from the field as well as the free throw line, and
had a 51-39 advantage over Real Madrid in rebounds.
Cleveland Cavaliers Vs Montepaschi Siena

The Cleveland Cavaliers were able to escape with a narrow 91-85 victory over the visiting Montepaschi Siena in their opening preseason game in Cleveland here on Monday night. After failing to make any impact in the first half,
the Cavaliers got into their rhythm in the second half by outscoring the visiting team 58-49. Samardo Samuels scored 14 points and 7 rebounds off the bench for Cleveland, while Tristan Thompson added 12 points and 4 rebounds. Kyrie Irving played the game for
Cleveland but went 1 of 7 from the field to score 10 points, and Donald Sloan added 13 points to the team tally as well. Bobby Brown scored a game high 22 points and 7 assists for Siena, and Matt Janning also finished the game with 21 points and 5 rebounds.
Siena had the advantage in the game from the get-go, as Cleveland failed to find their rhythm early on. A three pointer by Janning had Siena leading 15-8, and they close the first period leading 22-17.
