Rash from the pacifier?

my ten months old son has developed a rash on sides of the mouth from the pacifier, what can I do to treat this and how do i prevent it from happening again?

  1. keep the area dry and try to minimize the use of the pacifier until the excess drool has stopped. Or you can get those type of pacifiers that doesnt rub against the cheeks.


  2. Try one of the vented type pacifiers that allow the skin around it to breathe more.

  3. Can you try one of the vented ones the.   Rash is from the saliva that that is trapped between the pacifier shield and the baby skin.    You can put a little diaper rash cream on it.( i know wierd but that is what the doc. told me for with my first ) it will act as a barrier to help keep it dry.

  4. Put lanolin around his mouth to keep the moisture away from his skin.

  5. take maway his pacifier. He is sucking on it so hard which gives him a rash. Start weening him off of it
