Question:

Rash or something on my arm...help?

Okay, about a week ago, I noticed what I thought was a bug bite on my arm (the back of my left arm). It ITCHES horribly! It started out as 4 small bumps, and over the last week it's gotten just a little bit bigger (now it's about the size of a penny) and there are several more bumps involved. Basically, it's just a bumpy circle, that itches. It's starting to worry me, though...because it has gotten bigger and it's definitely not going away.

Now, I've been washing it regularly, and applying some rubbing alcohol to try to dry it out. I've used hydrocortisone to help with the itching (which helps somewhat).

Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I had a rash a few years ago, and my doctor gave me a cream called Fougera. It hasn't expired yet, so I put some of that on the "rash" tonight to see if it works.

Now, for some background...I was in Southern California, and got back a week ago. So, I don't know if it came from something there or what. Someone help!

  1. well it seams to me that you have poison ivy or oak or the other one. because the symtoms all match up. the ichiness and the spreading because wen u scratch it it spreads and the only way to tell if its one of those types of poison is to c if there is any substance oozzin out. if so it is definatley a poison thing. now to help is to put plain deoderant over it.(do not have it scented or use it after it has touched the infected area.) try not to scratch it to much t can make it worse. other then that i would just say go to a doctor to check it out. you can neva be to careful! goodluck and i hope u feel betta!! :)

  2. You could have a fungal infection, like ringworm or a yeast on your skin. Try an athlete's foot medication on it, athlete's foot is a fungus so it should work on your rash if it's a fungus. If it continues to grow in size with a ring and small bumps on the outer edges you may have a yeast and need a doctor's prescription.
