Rashad Evans, Phil Davis ready to take on each other in UFC on Fox2 – UFC news
Temperature is rising between both the fighters who are taking on each other in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s, (UFC), upcoming pay-per-view. The show, which will be televised on Fox channel, is scheduled to be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012.
The octagonal stage will be set in the United Center Arena, Illinois and will be headlined by the bout between the two most fierce light heavyweight fighters. Rashad Evans will take on Phil Davis in an epic battle, which will decide as to who is the blabber
and who is the real pound-for-pound fighter.
Rashad Evans recently lashed the young 27-year-old opponent calling him a boy who has been lucky since he joined the UFC, and who has not experienced real beating by the fists and kicks of a true belligerent. The clash between the two men is just four days
ahead and things have already started to heat up.
Evans, infamously known as Suga, did not lash out on Phil insensibly. It was Phil who made the 32-year-old former UFC Light heavyweight champion furious. Phil initially said in a very calm way, that Rashad is definitely the true number one contender for
the title, but he can beat him easily and when he has done so nothing will stop him to take on Jon Jones, the current light heavyweight title-holder.
Rashad said in a jolly mood, “He ain't ready. He knows he ain't ready. You're just a boy. We're going to see what happens when those lights hit you and you walk out and the crowd is roaring. We're going to see what kind of man you are and what kind of fighter
you are.”
Rashad is confident and is not considering the young Mr. Wonderful his true competitor. Rashad’s stats and his experience might be telling his inner gut that Phil is just a lad and can be beaten easily, but it might also make him over confident, hence making
him vulnerable to Phil’s 26% submission ratio.
Rashad has an experience of taking on 13 UFC fighters, beating 11 of them. He allowed just one man, Lyoto Machida to knock him out. Evans’ takedown capability is fierce, he has taken down 74 percent of his opponents, whereas has struck 26 percent brawlers
straightforward.
Evans’ wins include 6 knockouts portraying how much of a power striker Suga is. On the other hand, Phil, the Wonderful has been in 9 bouts and came out as a victor in all of them which is the foremost reason why he is so confident against Suga. The interesting
aspect that gives the young lad a clear upper hand on Evans is his submission manoeuvres. Phil has won 3 of his bouts by submission, a style in which Suga lacks substantially.
The bout on the upcoming Saturday night will decide who the better man is and who will go on to fights Jon Jones, the UFC light heavyweight gold holder.
