Rashad Evans: Jon Jones always wanted to fight me – UFC News
Rashad Evans’ long time dream is near its completion dates, as he will take on Jon Jones for the UFC light-heavyweight championship. The lead up to the match has been one of the most dramatic of all times. Evans has left no stone unturned to emotionally
dismantle Jones, while the latter has kept his cool. Rashad has spoken a lot about Jones’ on a personal level since he has known the fighter from his school days. Even now, just 3 days before their big match, Evans wants to ensure Jones remains under the pressure.
In his recent media interaction, Evans came up saying, “I just get tired of talking about the whole thing over and over again. I get tired of talking about Jon and Greg (Jackson) and the whole situation. I do get tired of it and I do get tired about all
the press we had to do. It's to the point I just want to fight. I've talked about it long enough. Jon always wanted to fight me. Jon never wanted to be teammates and never wanted to be like brothers. Jon came on the team to learn the way to beat me so he can
fight me.”
On the other hand, Jones prefers talking about himself more than his opponents. Throughout the lead-up, Jones has made sure that he keeps pressure on Evans by emphasizing on his own capabilities. He recently told reporters that all his opponents know well
that he has a lot of techniques and that they cannot figure out what he is going to throw next.
He then added that he has a lot to throw on his opponents and he himself is not really sure of his plans until he is in the ring fighting. He said whatever he will find open he would throw it to beat his opponent.
Both the fighters were once best friends, college mates and UFC buddies, but now they are enemies. Rashad Evans said in his previous interview that no matter what happens he will not be friends with Jon Jones again. He said he would not even shake hands
with Jones after the fight.
