Rashad Evans: Phil Davis is afraid and not sure-footed – Boxing news
Rashad Evans, who will be meeting Phil Davis in the ring in the headlined match of the UFC on Fox 2, says his opponent looks terror-stricken and timid.
The light-heavyweight fight between the both will be held in Chicago this weekend, and according to Evans, Davis does not look fully prepared for it.
Rashad Evans, the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, asserted, “Davis is intimidated. I've seen him around and he's not looking too confident. He's not ready for this level, and he knows it. He's coming to put up a good show, go back down a level, and come
back again in a year or two. He's not coming to take it to me, but I am gonna take it to him. After I had my year off [with injury] I came back with the attitude of never, ever leaving it up to the judges and just throwing hands all the time. That's the way
my career is going to go, and that's how I am going to.”
Furthermore, Evans stated that Davis does not look in the best of his form, and that he is not a natural fighter but a very good human being.
According to him, Phil is a great athlete but he lacks the fighting spirit that is required in the ring. He further added that the killer instinct is not there in Phil and then he lacks experience too since he has not fought any fierce fighters like he did.
Both the fighters are Americans. Rashad Evans hails from the USA from Nigeria Falls, New York and is signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as of now.
Phil Davis is rated as currently the 6th light heavyweight in the world by Sherdog. The duo will be meeting this weekend to put an end to the much hyped bout. Since the bout was decided, fans and well-wishers of both the sides have heavily flooded the internet
and social media websites proclaiming their fighter to be the best.
Both the fighters themselves have given out several interviews in order to provoke the other. Finally, the day of judgement is near and it will be decided once and for all as who is the better fighter.
