Rashad Evans believes he learned a lesson against Jon Jones – UFC News
Rashad Evans lost against Jon Jones last Saturday at UFC 145, which definitely was an embarrassment for him. Evans, who had been trash talking about Jones for quite some time, lost the only chance to show Jones low. However, the UFC fighter still holds grudges
against Jones, saying that he still does not like him and that he learned a lesson from the defeat.
In his recent interview, Evans spoke his heart out regarding his defeat. Evans had a lot to say about the fight. According to him, “It sucked. I didn't get the job done, but it's a lesson, you learn, and it's a fight business, and this is what happens sometimes.
I just gotta do what I gotta do to come back stronger and keep my head up and bring some other good fights out there. I don't take no victory in [going five rounds]. I wanted to win the fight. It's not winning the fight, so, a loss is a loss all the way through.
I'm not gonna hang my head on it too much. I just got to go back into the gym and just get better. I still don't like him. He fought a good fight, and I got respect for him as a fighter, and I had respect for him as a fighter before. I still don't...I'll tell
you what, we're gonna fight again.”
It should be noted here that fans were expecting Evans to end Jones’ reign as the UFC light heavyweight champion, but he could not. After a year of trash talking about Jones’ family, his background and his mental health, all Evans could do was the defend
himself in the ring. The fight ended with a unanimous decision in Jones’ favour. Even though Evans gave his best to beat the champion, it was not enough to bring him down.
Jones took full advantage of his long arms and legs, hitting Evans with his elbows and kicks all over. As promised, Jones came up with a different strategy this time, which completely took over Evans, and the latter could not do much about it.
