Rashad Evans vs. Jon Jones finally on the card to headline UFC 145 – UFC news
Rashad Evans vs. Jon Jones has been finalised for the UFC 145 pay-per-view event.
Ultimate Fighting Championship is amidst the making of an epic pay-per-view that will attract not only a huge fan base but also give the sport a ruthless and quality bout of Rashad Evans, the number one contender for the light heavyweight championship and
Jon Jones.
Rashad Evans recently got the golden ticket to fulfil the dream of putting his huge hands and blows over his current arch rival and former friend Jon Jones by beating Phil Davis viciously and brutally in UFC on Fox 2 pay-per-view’s main event. Before the
January 28, 2012’s engagement UFC President Dana White announced that if Evans wins the bout he would be guaranteed a title match against Jon Jones.
Evans the Suga authoritatively grabbed the opportunity and is now on his way to take on his number one rival, the American Jon Jones. The bout will headline UFC’s 145th main event and will have Jones light heavyweight title on the line. The brawl will take
place on April 21 at the Phillips Arena situated in Atlanta City.
The bout is active and will go on to take place normally if any setback does not halt any of the two rivals. It must be kept in mind that this meeting in the octagonal ring is somewhat personal since Evans and Jones both were sparring partners. They not
only trained together under the supervision of Greg Jackson but also had a formal psychological pact.
Both men had this understanding to not put their hands on each other in a competition. Things become serious when Jones raised his desire of competing against Evans, an aspect that raged the Suga who eventually left Jackson’s camp. Since then Evans had been
seriously in pursuit of the young 24-year-old brawler.
Jon Jones when asked to comment on Evan’s win and his confirmation as the number one contender for his title said, “I'm so excited about fighting Rashad. I can't wait to get past this chapter of my career. I've been calling him the antagonist of my career
because of all the hype and all the drama. I'm a happy man. I'm a very happy man right now. I'm excited to retain my title on April 21.”
Evans proved the world his fierceness by savagely beating Davis but Jones is also a powerful brawler, a brawler who is acclaimed even by Anderson Silva as the man who cannot be nailed by any current Brazilian. It must be understood that Brazilians are far
experienced and famous in Jiu-Jitsu and mixed martial art.
