Rashid Latif urges PCB to deal with India on even grounds – Cricket News Update
Pakistan’s former Test skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 should compensate Pakistan
for the cancelled tour of 2009 prior to playing any new series with the Men in Green.
Latif is of the view that Pakistan always takes initiative and advances the hand of friendship towards India, which in turn, does not conform to its words and commitments. Moreover, he has expressed grave concerns over the Pakistani cricketers’ ouster from
the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The former wicketkeeper batsman has strictly advised the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397, against making any sort of compromises in a bid to bring international cricket back to the country, avowing that unless the Board of Control for
Cricket in India (BCCI) does not agree to make compensation for the loss Pakistan suffered due to unexpected cancellation of India’s scheduled tour of 2009, the PCB should not host the Men in Blue.
Talking to the media today, Latif said, “I have been reading a lot of statements from the board officials on resumption of bilateral matches with India. I don't think we should tour India until they compensate us in some way for the tour they cancelled in
2009.”
He further told, “Why do we have to always take the initiative in wanting to resume bilateral ties with India. They didn't allow our players to take part in the IPL for the last three editions, what difference has it made to our cricket infact our team is
doing well and our players are in demand all over the world.”
Latif also opines that the Green Shirts are surviving and thriving well despite being deprived of international cricket at home.
Pakistan has not hosted any international cricket match since March 3, 2009, when Team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 was attacked by terrorists, in Lahore.
Latif represented Team Pakistan in 37 Test and 166 ODI games from 1992 to 2003. He made his international debuts in both the formats against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013. The 43-year-old is currently working as a cricket analyst.
