Former Lokomotiv Moscow head coach, Rashid Rakhimov, has revealed that a win in the upcoming game against Zenit St. Petersburg at Lokomotiv stadium, will help the Parovozy forget their humiliating 2-0 defeat against Dynamo Moscow,
earlier this week.
Rakhimov has lamented their shocking defeat against the Musora, admitting that Lokomotiv were unlucky to concede two goals. He advised the Railroader’s to alter the situation by winning the upcoming game.
“We all know how dangerous Zenit are when they get free zones on the pitch. However, the Loko can get a win if they stop Zenit from carrying out attacks with the help of one-two touches. Loko need to get more of the ball possession,
only then they can trouble Zenit. I am sure that the match will be very interesting.” The Soviet Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Commenting on the in-form Lokomotiv defenders, Taras Burlak and Maksim Belyayev, Rakhimov hailed the star duo, admitting that their decent form will help the Red-greens claim a decent spot at the end of the ongoing season.
While praising the defenders, Rakhimov also commented on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denis-c10837 Glushakov’s performances. The Russian midfielder is Lokomotiv’s top scorer at the moment with 9 goals in 30 appearances.
“Glushakov can play at any position in midfield and he can use his both feet. It would have been a big loss had the Moscow-based club let the midfielder leave during the transfer window.” Rakhimov concluded.
The former Amkar Perm manager went on to admit that Loko have a decent chance to close down the gap with the league leaders and assured the fans of an exciting match. As things stand, Lokomotiv are at the third spot on the league
table and trail the leaders by 11 points.
Rakhimov, meanwhile, admitted that Zenit are strong opponent. However, he reminded Loko of their big win against the same opposition during the second league round where Lokomotiv came from behind to win 4-2 against Zenit at home.
