Rasmus Bonde, Mads Conrad Petersen clear pre quarter-final round of 2012 Bitburger Badminton Open
Men’s Doubles experts Rasmus Bonde and Mads Conrad Petersen of Denmark displayed unbeatable craft on the court and powered their way into the quarter-finals of Bitburger Badminton Open Grand Prix Gold on November 1, 2012.
They thrashed the twosome of Andreas Heinz and Max Schwenger by showing superb coordination in both sets of the match.
This second round tussle, staged at Saarbrucken in Germany, remained in full swing for 27 minutes before ending with 21-18 and 21-12 margin.
The local badminton arena was filled with a huge crowd which gathered to encourage the native shuttlers.
However, it was a sheer disappointment for them as the Danish pair silenced them by sealing a straight-set victory.
Rasmus Bonde and Conrad Petersen looked in prime touch throughout this encounter as they did not lose focus at any stage and cornered their challengers in all areas of the game.
In first set of the match, they started the beating after 3-2 and piled up a decent figure of 7-3 in no time.
This initial advantage helped them to place a mountainous total of 11 before the announcement of one-minute break.
After the mid-game break, they lost the grip for a short span of time which resulted in 12-15 margin but they did not lose heart and counter-balanced the situation with some productive rallies.
Rasmus Bonde and Conrad Petersen bagged this crucial match point with a respectable lead in 21-18 total.
This timely win boosted their confidence and both Danish shuttlers entered in second set with high shoulders.
On the other hand, the local duo failed to keep the nation’s hopes alive and knelt down tamely. Andreas Heinz and Max Schwenger could not come out of their competitors’ influence until last shot was played.
Meanwhile, Rasmus Bonde and Conrad Petersen played flawless badminton and established a notable lead with 11-4 score.
They did not drop the pace and left their opponents far behind with an overwhelming figure of 21-12.
Now they will lock horns with a higher ranked Indonesian team of Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki-Hendra Aprida Gunawan and win ensure their presence in the top four teams of this GP Gold event.
