Question:

Raspberry bush?

i have a raspberry bush that is about 3 years old that gets hardly any raspberries at all. it is in a sort of shady spot in my backyard. does it need more sun to grow more berries? or do the bushes start giving more berries after a certain amount of years? or perhaps i just bought a poor quality bush? help

  2. The bush will need some sun to produce berries and your little guy is now old enough to be bearing fruit.  They don't like HOT sun, though, and no harsh winds.

    Raspbies produce berries their second year.  After the berries are gone, you can cut back the cane the berries were on as they are now non-producers.

    They like their soil slightly acidic and on the cool side.

  3. Cut back your raspberry bush and add compost with soil.  It will start growing in no time.
