Raspberry leaf tea - can it cause itching?

fiancee started drinking RLT yesterday and today she's itching really bad, are the linked?

i hope your fiancee is over 36wks gestation - she shouldnt be drinking it before then as it tightens the uterus!!!!!!!!

itching is a common side-effect of pregnancy im afraid, she will just have to apply some itch relief cream and put up with it.

If she is allergic, it's possible. Has she had anything else different to eat or drink?

OMG when i was pregnant i itched like mad. It's not necessarily from the tea just another one of those wonderful side effects you get from being pregnant!

For the record, you do have to be careful with certain herbal drinks when pregnant. I know peppermint tea you CAN drink. Check it out on-line though.

itching is a common side effect of hormonal changes during pregnancy, however my sister developed a liver condition during pregnancy called Obstetric Cholestasis she hadn't a clue that she had it till she attended  my labour and the midwifes told her to get the itching checked. She had to be induced at 37 weeks as theres a risk of still birth, please tell her to inform her midwife.

I drunk it when i was pregnant and had no side effects. I guess it's possible you could be allergic to the ingredients though.
