  1. my rats haven't bled on me ever. lilo might have peed on my a few times but my other one hasn't. the only thing they pee or poo on now is the couch(training in progress) i have sucsesfully trained one but the other is a slow learner.

  2. Young rats may pee or poo on you but as they get older they start to gain more control and usually only potty in their cage unless they really gotta go. They may dribble some urine on you (tiny drops) as a way of marking you though. This doesn't smell and has never bothered me personally.

Rats do not menstruate they have heat cycles and they should not bleed with them. If you see bleeding your female needs to see a vet as there's something else wrong. Female rats go into heat about every four or five days.

Make sure you adopt your rats in same s*x pairs, as they are highly social and shouldn't be kept alone.

  3. Most animals do not menstruate. All female rats go thorugh an oestrus cycle, and go in heat. But they should never bleed vaginally.

Rats are very smart and clean. It would not be common for them to just go wherever they want to. Most will designate a corner of their cage for doing this. Males are a bit les likely to stick to their corners, and have more accidents than females. But you cannot expect them to be 100% litter trained.

Males will also mark territory with urine, but just little amounts, not like whole pee puddles.

Also, whe nyou first get the rats, do not try to touch them for at least the first few days. Let them get used to the cage first so they aren't terrified and overwhelmed. When scared, they will probably go to the bathroom on you.

  4. They should NEVER bleed on you, rats don't get periods
