People are telling me that Regal Rat is 100% complete for a rats dietary needs and even if that true, wouldnt it be boring to eat the same exact thing (with some fruits and veggies) every single day? Should you have a homemade mix with that? Can you recommend a homemade mix? Thanks! I prefer detailed answers please.

  1. yo sup try peanut butter with bread, raisins, crickets, mealworms, wax worms, believe it or not they love insects put the crickets in there cage and see them hunt--in the wild they eat insects...... http://www.spoiledratten.com/feedingcont...

  2. no thats fine, just give them a variety of treats (not too many treast :o)

  3. I make a homemade mix, which my rat adores, here's what's in it:

1.First buy a small bag of pre mixed rat food, as a bit of a base to your mix.

    2. Next add a few variety of low sugar breakfast cereals (like cornflakes)

    3. Pop in some dried pasta they love, crunching on that!

    4. Add some raisins, dried apricot or dried apple

    5. Add a couple of breadsticks (broken up) into it

    6. Anything else your rat has a fancy for that will be suitable for everyday eating

Then just give fruit, vegetables, a little bit of biscuit now and then, a spoonful of yogurt, crackers, a tiny bit of cheese a little bit of bread etc

Just remember treats MUST be in moderation!

    Hope this helped :)
