  1. First of all you should never get a single rat. Didn't you research first? Rats need to be kept in same s*x pairs or groups, they are too social to keep alone. I'd recommend showing your commitment to your mother by researching their care and maybe showing her some of the information:

Petsmart, like any pet store, is not a good place to get rats or any other animals. Petstore animals come from mills or backyard breeders (which you don't want to support) and are often unhealthy, undersocialized, and in the case of females, pregnant. I'd recommend looking into rescues and reputable breeders:

  3. Learn how to write before you get a pet.

  4. okay first..you people need to be more considerate.

i got my rat at petsmart and he seems to be quite healthy and everything.

now the hard part is getting your mom to say yess..my mom was easy to convince well considering i have many other animals lol

just let her know they are really nice and very smart animals and are pretty  much just like a mini dog or cat :)

  5. Don't get one from a petshop. They buy from rodent farms and all you have to do is type in rodent farms in google to see how bad that is. You may think your rescuing it after youv seen it but your not. The mother rats are being bred and bred and bred until they die so the babies they give to the pet shops will have lots of health problems later on in life. I know this from experience. One of my rats died at 4 months old by a brain tumor and i had got her from the pet shop. Some other rats i'd got from the pet shop has died in horrible ways too. Please get one from a rescue centre or a breeder. x

  6. Petsmart is where my sister gets all her pet mice/hamsters/rats/ect.
