  1. You need to get the females to a vet immediately!  It is extremely irresponsible to breed animals unless you know what you're doing.  Why did you separate the babies from the mom immediately?  The mom needs to be able to nurse her babies.

Please read through these sites about raising baby rats for further help.  This is not instead of taking the babies to the vet.  Do it today!

  2. I'm not sure, but you probably should be safe rather then sorry and take the remaining to the vet ASAP.

  3. Oh my goodness.

Well, I'm not sure, but it doesn't sound good.

This could be a disease, or possibly something they ate...?

Look it up on Google, and take them to the vet IMMEDIATELY.

  4. if you care about them at all take them to the vet. ASAP!!!

  5. Sounds like they werent eating or drinking. When rats become malnorished and dehydrated they will get very skinny and bones will show within a day or 2. Happens very quickly. When a rat(any rat) is dying they become very cold to the touch. Rats that are malnorished and dehydrated will be slow moving. I have no clue about the brown spots though. I have a hairless rat and have had her for about 9 months now. Hairless rats have to be taken care of a certain way. They have to have extra nutrients in there food. They need more than a furry rat. They also need to warmth from a furry friend(another rat) or lots of blankets. Hairless rats will get colder quicker than there hairy relatives. I have looked on all my reference guides on rats and cant find anything on questionable brown spots on them. Sometimes rats will die for it seemed showing no reason. But usually there is an underlying reason. It could have been a respitory infection which could spread to all of them being they are all breathing the same air. Rats will hide there respitory infections as long as they can. Being the fact that rats are the lowest on the food chain any type of illness is seen as a weakness so that is why they hide it. I have been raising rats for roughly 7 years and Im telling you that you need to get them into a vet A.S.A.P. A vet needs to access what is wrong. Maybe might give you some insight to the reason the other ones died. But only an exotics vet will see them. Good luck.
