I've got a jumbo rat at home. He's about one to one 1/2 years old. When I got him I couldn't help but notice he has a very large pair in the back..but now I realize that they aren't really there at all. They have shrunk drastically and I don't know if this is serious or not..any information would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Testicular cancer?

  2. If you notice a slight discoloration in your rodents f***s

you should see a vet. Small testes and discoloration of the rodents f***s can be related. He might have a slight cold.

    OR

If he is mating it can cause a difference in the size of his testes.

    OR

He might be gaining/losing weight which can cause his testes to appear a different size.

I hoped I helped :) and his testes are ok! ;) Hehehe

  3. I've noticed in rats, that when it's warm, their testes are more noticeable. Also when they're real relaxed.

When it's cold (to them) and/or something scares them, their testes are smaller in size.

  4. When they are scared they will actually suck in their testes, much as a human male would when it's cold. When he relaxes and is not scared or stressed he will let them hang out.
