I had the 11th pick out of 12 teams.

QB-Matt Hasselbeck

RB-Edgerrin James

RB-Julius Jones

WR-Terrell Owens

WR-Reggie Wayne

WR-Brandon Marshall

TE-Kevin Boss

K-Nick Folk

DEF-Vikings

Reserves:

QB-David Gerrard

RB-Felix Jones

RB-Kevin Jones

WR-Patrick Crayton

TE-Greg Olsen

K-Josh Brown

DEF-Cowboys

I know my RBs are weak but having 3 top 12 WRs will make up for it a bit. I think Kevin Boss is going to be a big time sleeper with Shockey gone.

  1. 3 Solid WR but like you said, no running game. I would maybe trade Reggie Wayne for a good RB. If you do that I think you have an okay team

  2. I was in a 12 team league last year and for your position you probably did about as well as you could do....I assume people made a run on RB's early. I like your kicker and your D, that will probably make up some of the difference over some teams with better RB's.

If I had that team, I would look to trade TO, he's older and the potential for injury increases plus Romo plays some tough D's half the year, I think his production decreases and TO will likely be where you'd see most of that. I'd look to replace James, he hasn't been nearly as productive against some pretty easy competition in the west, I think you could do better. Somebody would love TO as their #1 WR and gladly part with their #2 RB for him I think. You don't have a viable back-up WR though so that might be a problem...at least in my opinion.

I agree with the person who said it's not a great idea to have your QB and RB from the same team but I think with Gerrard being a solid 15 point guy you have some cushion if you want to play the matchups. I think Jones is better than his numbers.

Be careful with Marshall, I hear he might be missing some time this season and the Broncs love to run 60%+ of the time (although that could change with no clear candidate to run but they always find one). Over all, I think you can get 70-80 points a game depending on your league, sometimes you'll break into the 90's. In my opinion you might do a little better than .500 but you know how football goes, any given sunday....

  3. Personally I do not think that your RB's are weak, but my main concern as far as your starters fo is that you have the QB and RB of the same team, usually one of them performs better than the other, and the other player wont touch the ball as much.  Also, your bench is very weak, Felix Jones isnt going to start unless Marion Barber gets injured, Kevin Jones isnt even guarenteed a #2 spot at RB yet, and Greg Olsen might not even start over Desmond Clark.  Also, its not a good thing to have the #1 and #2 WR's of a team, ecspecially when the play with one of the best receiving TE's in the league.

  4. I think you did great for picking #11.  I wouldn't worry about your RB.  It's not that bad.  I like the Vikings this year on Defense and I agree with your Kevin Boss theory.  I bet if you look at every team in your league, they lack a position or two as well.  In a 12 team league you are not going to end up with superstars at every position.  Good luck.

  5. Pretty Good team

  6. 5 out of 10

  7. Other than WR and DEF your team is not very strong. It appears that your first two picks were TO and Reggie Wayne, which is a big fantasy no-no. You need to take a RB in one of the first two rounds, if not both. Hasselbeck is fine, but I'd rather have a good quarterback than a good #3 WR. I would drop Josh Brown and Greg Olson and pick up an RB and a WR with some potential upside, since you need to get lucky to do well with this team. Maybe handcuff some top-tier RBs if their owners have not yet done so. In the future, never draft two kickers. (You probably shouldn't draft two DEF either.) Out of 10 I'd give your team a 3.5. Looks like a losing season, bro.

  8. Your RB situation is startling.  I mean, to be honest, I would barely be cofortable with Edge/Julius as my bench RB's - I guess you drafted RB's starting in the third since you probably went TO and then Reggie Wayne in the 1st and 2nd round.  I don't disagree with TO at 11, he's decent value there, but you may have reached to grab Reggie Wayne when you could have grabbed someone like Marshawn Lynch, Maurice Jones Drew, or Clinton Portis.

Your QB's are solid but not noteworthy.  Boss may have a good year, but he's not going to be a top tier TE - for him "big time sleeper" means he'll be as good as guys like Vernon Davis, and Todd Heap at the top of the second tier - he's not going to sniff the likes of Gates, Witten, or Gonzalez.

On your bench I like Felix Jones and Patrick Crayton for that matter.  You may want to consider packaging Julius along with Wayne/Marshall to trying to get a top fifteen RB.  Having Crayton move into a starter role in a 12 team league, along with TO and Marshall/Wayne should still give you one of the better receiving corps.

I think if you leave your team as it is you're headed for a mediocre (at best) year.  Still, anything can happen - good luck!
