  1. Very nice! I am jealous ;)

Just a couple of things that might be worth thinking of -

Intel have just announced they are reducing CPU prices, so it may be worth hanging on a few days to save a bit of money -

    http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/n...

I would also consider if it was me getting two 500GB hard drives not just one 1TB, main reason being that they are typically a little bit faster but also gives you the option for any important files you may have, music, movies, documents, whatever and keep a backup across the two, unless you have another method of backup it can be soul crushing if you lose something really important.

Very impressed though and I would say for the budget 9 out of 10.

Oh, and don't let people start complaining you should be getting an nVidia card until you check this out -

    http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/n...

Way too many issues at the moment, you will be pleased you chose the 4850 card for reliability and value.

    Enjoy your new pc :)

  2. That's pretty good, but you might want to get 1066Mhz RAM, instead of 800Mhz. And don't forget a 64 bit OS. Otherwise 8.5/10(your PSU could be a little better, your mobo only has one pci-e slot, and the RAM thing)

BTW, the link for your PSU says that is unavailable, so I can' t see any specs.

Oh, and you may want to go with a nvidia card( I know the guy above listed that link, but i've never had any problems with my cards) since they have PhysX support, and newer games will be using that technology, UT3 already does.

  3. Well, it's about the same as mine, except mine cost £500. I only got 2GBs of RAM, seeing how much of a pointless indulgence anything more than that is at the current cost, and a 3870, because the 4xx0 series hadn't even come out yet, and I think 1 TB HDDs were the stuff of legend back then. I didn't build it myself, either, so I guess I got more crapware.

Quad cores are useless indulgences as well. They give you almost no performance boost over a duel core, unless you have about 20 programs open at a time. For a single program to make use of the multiple cores, it has to be specifically made to do so, and few games producers seem to bother due to the fact that it would hardly make any difference to anything but advanced physics engines.

So... with mine at a base 5, I'd say an 8, mainly because a terabyte would sure help me out.

  4. its looks good.  I didn't pay attention to prices so I don't know if your getting a good deal, but all the hardware looks good.

E8400, E8500, E8600 are better processor choices for gaming.  They are dual cores.  Most games don't use all 4 cores of quad core processors yet.  Quad core is better for lots of multi-tasking.
