Rate my easter basket?

Okay, so my little girl (she's 11) is very pickey about what goes in her easter basket, so for this year and last I gave her some money and took her shopping at walmart to pick out what she wanted. I think she did a good job, but I'm wondering whether or not I should tweak it a little bit, u know i'm such a mommy. She actually did pretty good I think, before we left she looked around the house for things we already have. instead of getting an overpriced basket, she found some old easter bowls we already had. Her fav easter candy is chocolate bunnies so one bowl just has nothing but that. i let what went into the basket be her choice, but she's only allowed to eat one bunny on easter obviously. Any hints, comments, suggestions are welcome.

  1. Cute...

  2. I think the baskets are adorable! Good call on those bowls BTW, no basket could be as cute and you didn't have to pay for them. Also it's good that you are restricting her candy intake, blah, can you imagine eating four of those in one day? Oh gross, you'd be so sick to your stomach!! i don't think that she is too old, I think that the only way you can out grow something is if the person themselves wants to stop it. That could occur at many different points for different people.

  3. You let her pick out her own Easter present? Woah!-I thought presents were supposed to be a surprise for the actual date....

You have one spoiled little girl.

    So I give it a 8. Lovely!

Hope your daughter loves her present,

    Claire

  4. I think you should teach her to appreciate whatever she gets and to pretend that she likes something even if she doesnt because its good manners....

(EDIT.....I just reread your question and saw that you said that she didnt tell u that she didnt like something, you just noticed it on your own....so sorry about that)

I think that you should definitely add a few things to her basket so that she has some suprise as well....

    or

make her another mini basket or whatever...

you could add some things such as a toothbrush (kids love the battery operated ones) and her own toothpaste.....

    dental floss,etc...

and whatever else you know that shes into.....

    like books,stickers,etc...

another thing you could do is maybehave her  make a basket or baskets for kids who wont get to have Easter this year.....(many poor families dont)

and maybe that will help to teach her to appreciate what she gets....

(EDIT....I still think this is a great idea for your daughter since she enjoys and did such a good job of making her Easter basket)

im not saying letting her make her own basket is such a bad idea though.....(since shes at the age that she obviously knows "about the easter bunny"_

it's kind of a good idea actually........

I'm just responding to the other things u mentioned ,is all....

    P.S

your daughter put together a cute basket

    :O)

  5. i think you need to realize she is not that much of a little girl anymore,my kids if they were that picky wouldn't get a thing!!!
