I hope this time will be different
But knowing Lennie, I reckon it won’t.
We’ve been to every dang ranch around these parts
And we keep havin’ to leave cause Lennie ruins it.
But not this time, he can’t.
We’re going to this new ranch
Were there is a new boss and new folks
They know nothing about us
And we can start all over again
Just like the last twenty times
But see, I’m always worryin’ if Lennie will behave or not,
Always checkin’ on him and can never do nothin’ on my own.
He’s a big, strong, hard-workin’ son-of-a-gun
But he can’t even take care of himself.
It’s a dang shame.
And he has this thing for soft feeling textures
He accidentally kills little animals cause he be pettin’ them too hard.
And that’s why we had to run from Weed
That fool couldn’t keep his hands off that woman’s dress.
So now we’re workin’ here at this new ranch.
