Question:

Rate my poem please...!?

Tell me what you think of my poem. Be honest. Be brutal. Love it. Hate it. Just tell me what you think. Rate it or critique it. Or just comment. Thanks!

Will we make it through this night;

Suffer through to morning's light?

Can we live through this pain;

Stand a little bit of rain?

We've stood through all that's divine,

But now is when we find our spine.

If we make it through then we can know it's true,

But if it isn't meant to be, now we'll know that too.

Such a complicated place to be,

You let me be free.

We've made it through the dreadful night,

To see the beautiful sunlight.

  2. An average girl writing an average poem. There is no situation that we can relate to, such as why you are in the situation you find yourself . Was it an argument after having some good times. Where were you?

You also have given little thought to your choice of words, it is as though you have said something because it seems to fit.

With some careful thought you can salvage this effort and make something better of it.

You also need to decide who you are writing for, the younger generation or for everybody. If it is for the younger generation then from some of the comments they do not seem to mind how the poem is set out, and accept it for what it is. Maybe because they can relate to it.

I respect your effort, but hope that you will be more considerate when writing a poem and not some scattered thoughts. Keep on writing for you do show promise.

    Robert

  3. It's elementary to be honest. A good poem doesn't tell a story directly. It evokes the story with imagery, similes and metaphors.

  4. Hello --allow me to introduce you to a Lady who was named Mary Caroline Richards, and ask you to read her book Centering. quoting MCR about poetry---

"Poetry is an expression of the Centering Consciousness. By speaking figuratively. by calling thing by names other than their own, it helps to enliven in us the awareness that all beings partake of each other._ _ _ We do not need to be free of error in order to be in the midst of poetry."

I write poetry and have for circa 3 score years.

Never, ever, ask anothers opinion of your poetry if you like it and the poem expresses your thought of the moments, it is a precious thing that you have shared willingly to express emotions others may not understand. To study and understand poetry is to study to understand "wordless laws" of spiritual being.

Thank you for sharing this snapshot of yourself with us. Good stuff--

The caps that follow show entreaty not shouting

    KEEP WRITING POETRY___PLEASE!!!

The world would be much better if we had fewer lawyers and politicans and more poets.

  16. An average girl:

I like how this poem was put together

the rhyming is in the right places.

It talks about many things and emotions

like the night and worrying about getting through

    One line stands out

Or suffer through the morning light

if the weather is hot enough

it can be hard to endure.

Each paragraph talks about a category

    emotion.

  17. one word girfriend: touching♥

  18. I think it's pretty good, and I see how a lot of other people are going to LOVE it, but it's just not my style. I personally don't like it because it's a poem that asks questions, rather than delves into the past and/or shows emotion, especially sadness. But for the style I think you did a very good job.
