Morneau is having a great year. The White Sox have 2 candidates that will split their votes, so does Texas. Seizmore is having a great season but on a losing team. Youkalis will get alot of votes, and I doubt they will give the MVP to a closer.

With the 5 you mentioned, should go in this order:

1- Hamilton

2- Quentin

3- Rodriguez

4- Morneau

5-Kinsler

MVP is SUPPOSED to be for the obvious, instead over the years, its more voted as a popular vote rather then to the player deserving of it. Also most times its to player of a team in first place. That doesnt automatically make any player on a first place team, a MVP.

In '84 Andre Dawson won MVP while playing for last place Cubs. THAT was when it was given to a deserving player. His stats were awesome.

That being said, no matter where the Rangers finish, Hamilton is the man.

Also consider A-Rod despite you not liking him. The guy was on DL and the team looked lost. He comes back with his usual offense, and they start their streaks again.

Cabrera with Tigers is another thought. He started slowly. They started slowly. he started hittign , driving in runs at a rapid pace, they started winning. THAT is a MVP, to his team.

One more, with Saunders from The Angels. Not often a pitcher gets MVP, but if Fransisco has a mild collapse, then if a pitcher should get it, it is him.

KRod is possible but closers rarely win Cy Young awards, much less MVPs.

I think A-Rod instead of K-Rod. He is the leading AL batter and he already has 23 homers in only 88 games I believe. It would be cool to have a MVP closer but his periperhals aren't out of this world.

josh hamilton is def. on top because he's having a spectacular year. kinsler shouldn't be up there a-rod should take his place because he makes such a big difference for the yankees although i think quentin should be 2nd sizemore instead of morneau and no k-rod period. rivera is on the top of some peoples list he is having a great year.so it should be....  Hamilton

You forgot Jermaine Dye. He belongs 1st or 2nd, IMO. Hamilton is benefiting from the fact that his teammates are always on base, so you can make a very strong argument that Dye is the most deserving (playing on a 1st place team with better AVG, OBP and SLG than Hamilton).

Dude, A-Rod is down in RBI and runs scored because he had a trip to the DL, not because he has played poorly. He's been very good when he's played. I wouldn't give him MVP, but he's clearly one of the best players in the AL this year.
