personally id say carlton improved in its defence with a young promising back line and the midfield was equal on its day to any in the comp.

they need a good experienced ruckman and at least another good marking option up forward then they'll be real finals contenders.

  1. i am an eagles supporter and i will say that they have done c**p sorry about my language. the should not be relaying on the good players the should not handball the ball or the time the should also kick the ball

  2. Well overall I was just relieved that the Pies made the finals this year! Last year they were fantastic, and I think a lot of people (including myself) were expecting more of them this year.

The main problem at Collingwood is consistency, I mean, they can smash Geelong, and then lose to the Blues twice! I think that was partly because the team was unsettled due to injury, and the fact that we basically didn't have any tall forwards for a while, apart from Cloke.

Hopefully when Rocca, Read and Rusling return, and we get some more pace in the midfield, we will become more consistent next year!

  3. my club is geelong and they have had a stella season. but our weak point is collingwood they obviously know how to beat us. and more football journalists are writing how to beat geelong so if clubs discover that there is a weak point but other than those things geelong premiers 08

  4. Shocking, compared to previous years.

But being such a young team with so many younger players getting games up their belts 10+ this season... they will be ahead of the other players their age. I'm so proud with their LOYALTY, determination and commitment to the club. I think another ruck men like dean cox would be handy =] and the players to grow their confidence but other then that i think we are really set for the future.

... still no wooden spoon :)

  5. my team is the CROWS, i think that they have done really well from all the injuries that they seem to be having of late. i hope that they get at least to the GF

  6. An easy one to answer in regard to where Port can improve!!

We were down all over the ground for just about the whole season. Much soul seeking & recruitment is needed. They are talking about bringing Josh Carr back to add toughness but i hope they don't get him back. He will cost plenty & he is nearing the end of his career.

I hope we do better with our draft picks of the young kids this year. We have not had a lot coming on in this department.

  7. Essendon did pretty well. We lost so many of our senior players to injuries through out the year it was hard especially when we lost 8 in a row or something. When we got some players back we strung together a few wins in a row which is great and i think we have improved and will improve. We have quite a good team a well balanced and in a few years should be playing finals

  8. Very disapointing one thing though Forky the only way is up.

  9. Collingwood were average and completely frustrating, having lost to Carlton & Kangas twice.  Two teams we are capable of beating easily.

To be honest im suprised the Pies are sitting 5th on the ladder coz their performance was so inconsistent and somewhat dismal at times (both Carlton games).

They have to get some big forwards next year who can attack the goals.  Rocca will most likely retire and Cloke cant do it on his own.  The others just arent tall enough.

On a positive note, the Pies will be the ONLY side to beat Geelong this season ;)  We do deserve credit for that.  If only we played like that every week .

  10. pies were good when they wanted to be and need to improve their consistency in winning/losing games, they cant thrash geelong lose to carlton! and just beat melbourne

  11. **As a Geelong supporter I guess you could say that our improvement has come in winning more home and away matches than we did last year (having only lost one so far this season).

I'd have to wait until after the finals to give a true indication on just how they compare to last the 2007 side though.**

  12. well forky you got it in one.... with a young list and a good mid field  and yes i think johnathan brown will make a good friend for fev next year... yes the cruz came along way this year and the coming years look promising for the the blues

  13. Hey Forky, How's father-hood treating you? Its a blessing, I hope. Anyway.... Adelaide's season is much like last season. They have done better in some areas, but need to improve in their goal front. They have been scoring goals...but need a real focal point up there. The Crows will finish higher in the top 8 this season, whereas last season they finished 8th and bombed out straight away. Give us a Franklin or a J.Brown, and the Crows will be a major force.

  14. Well I'm a Melbourne supporter, so we have 1 or 2 things to fix...

The performance was to be honest what I expected. At the start of the season I thought we could win 4-6 games.

What we can do to improve... Get rid of Dean Bailey and the ridiculous mentality of getting rid of all the old players and having a young side only. We have to be willing to trade.

If Melbourne had a good coach I really think we have a list that could make finals... Just (we had alot of injuries this year).

To make us a genuine contender we need a couple of good backs like Shaw (pies) and someone of the class od Glass (WC). A good midfielder like Cousins or Kerr (WC). I think our forwrd line is pretty good.

  15. collingwood were amazing against high sides like geelong (which we beat) and bulldogs. we struggled against teams like carlton and kangaroos. we could improve on our midfield because unlike other teams we dont have a extremely fast midfielder.

our backline is superb and our forward (after all injuries) will be good hopefully

  16. There is no fair answer since I barrack for Geelong. I will just leave it at that for now.

To whine now would make me a wanker like Andrew Demetriou and I don't want to be labeled as such--as a wanker and anything in common with Andrew the Rocket Scientist.

  17. yeah not too bad. we've been a bit on and off this season though, but are better positioned than last year. we need to improve in our forward line. we need a big target down there. young Tippet would be great, but he just needs to get a bit more experience. but other than that, our defence has been great, and our midfield is doing better than i thought, considering that Mark Riccuito has left a big hole.

i support the adelaide crows if u didnt know

  18. Hawthorn has done well got a top 4 finish with the second chance, you couldn't ask for more.

As for where can they improve, they have already started bringing the young guys in through the center, which is good for the future. Maybe if they didn't always look for Buddy going forward that would allow us to kick bigger scores with Roughy, Willow and Super Cyril on the forward line. Would also be nice to get a couple of running defenders in the draft to sure up the next couple of years.

  19. Its been a dissapointing year and its looking to be the worst in the eagles history of 22 years within the afl - yet it has been an exciting opportunity to give some younger players a chance, the eagles have had something like about 8 or 9 debutants this season - which have turned into wonderful senior players - such as Ben Mckinley in the forward line, Beau Wilkes in the Backline, Jamie Mcnamara & Brad Ebert in the midfield and many more.

  20. What can I say that you haven't said already FORKY?
