Rated stands out as the bright prospect for the Carling Nursery

The Class 4 Carling Nursery has gathered a line-up of ten two-year-old for the seven furlong race on Wednesday, 8th August at Newcastle. Just two candidates among the contestants have won during their most recent race while quite a few have been
placed when racing out last. The prize money for the race is set at £3,429. The lightly raced participants have just dealt with their maiden stakes, some clearing it at the very first chance while a few took more than once to get through.
The most experienced and accomplished entry for the race is the two-year-old bay gelding, Rated. The Mick Channon trained started his racing career just this season and has raced seven times since then. The two-year-old broke his maiden on 12th
April, 2012 in the Call Star Sports 08000 521 321 Median Auction Maiden Stakes at Folkestone over five furlongs.
The winner went through the wire with 1 ¾ lengths in his favour.
The next stop for the Sixties Icon’s bay gelding was in the Padon Contracts Novice Stakes on 18th May, 2012 at Newcastle over six furlongs.
Rated settled second while riding with jockey, Sam Hitchcott, after the two missed the wire by nine lengths.
The two-year-old made the most out of the fourth outing of the career by claiming the Mobile At Bet365.Com Nursery on 7th July, 2012 at Haydock over seven furlongs.
Finishing the closest to the winner was the favourite entry of the race, Steer By The Stars.
This was the second time that the bay gelding shared success while riding with the jockey, Martin Harley. This also marked as the last victory until yet because the upcoming three races did not get the bay gelding out of, Arasong, to the winners’ enclosure.
His most recent attempt was in the Grundon Recycle Nursery on 5th August, 2012 at Newbury over seven furlongs. He ended third as the race was won by, Pasaka Boy.
The last time that the 9 to 1 entry raced at Newcastle, he qualified as the runner-up. If riding with, Sam Hitchcott from the sixth stall will help in improving the ranking or not will unfold soon.
