Personally, i dont think the UK needs to unite with a foreign nation to stay competative at all. Infact we are doing just fine by ourselves.

But to be honest, if we HAD to join someone id rather join the Americans. Atleast we share a similar strength economy, language and culture.

Britain and Europe have little in common.

  1. america used to be in the middle of the western entertainment which fed the world with exciting new ideas and technology. now during the last ten years there has been a revolution in the uk input of entertainment, sending hundreds of tv show formatts worldwide! hundreds of uk pop stars have been created though x-factor and britains got talant and many more over the years, have rocked the worlds top 40 charts and joining in with the super stars of the u.s.a! this had raised alot of ambitions in the u.k and raised the u.k popularity!
consequently as more people have entered the uk, which had won the 2012 olimpics partly through londons diverse multicultural differences and ever growing population! the evergrowing relationship between the u.s.a and the u.k have found very similar culture and hbits alike. the womans bagaculture and the blingitexture on the chavs and gangstars! with the effectifness of music and visual entertainment we can join together to solve some of the problems our comunities face all ocross u.k and the u.s.a! both country's could see eachother working as a whole as the uk film industry  and music industries boom to international markets there are really not much difference in the culture and habits!! ANGLOAMERICANS! the english people get along better with the americans than anywhere else in europe! europe is subtle and boring! england is so much more than that! even in the heathrow area of london there is a certain change in accent and american influance as i think both countrys see eachother as an influance! the humungus cars that more and more brits are driving!! i am only in a state school in the bad suburbs of london and to be quite honest you could be in the outer or inner cors of new york !!and that the u.k and the u.s.a can join together and be another state!! i see america as the superpower and influentual power of the world at the moment! i know that china is very big and succesfull but i would never just boring and hard working than that in life! life is supposed to be fun but also working hard! america and england have got the balance just right!!! i have always dreamed to become american!!!!

  2. "Thanks U.K. for your friendship--you can count on us anytime in the future."

Joke?  I'm an American, but even I can remember the Falklands!  Britain is much more faithful to us than we to them.  On the other hand, I think WW2 earned us a few acts of infidelity.

  3. No way would I want to join with America. Yeuch, can't think of anything worse. Europe's heaps better; mind you we are only 35 minutes from France on the train. Finish school for the day, pile the kids onto Eurostar and head across to Mainland Europe for the evening.

And to the people suggesting an alliance with Australia, that's probably a non-starter in that I doubt (as an Australian) Australia would want to tie itself to the UK. Australia's interests and friends are in SE Asia nowadays.
