Rather than paying for garbage service, couldn't we just burn all our garbage?

It would save money, and it would return the garbage back into the atmosphere. I think it would be much more eco-friendly rather than piling it into a landfill. If everyone could just take little steps like this, I think our planet could be a great place to live again.

a lot of the garbage we use has toxic chemicals in it which will destory the environment- not to mention our lungs if we burn it.

This is the stupidest idea. Ever. Burning garbage contributes a huge amount of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. It does not help at all. It may 'get rid of the garbage' but think of this. Would you rather be breathing your garbage or have it compost away?

Burning stuff releases carbon dioxide, so it's less green than dumping it. Nice idea though!

take a normal bag of garbage which will most undoubtedly contain some form of plastic, light it on fire, then inhale the thick black smoke deep into your lungs 3 times, & you will have your answer (that is if you live through the experience). i will give you a 100% percent guarantee that if you don't die after inhaling the smoke into your lungs 3 times... you will wish you were.

anything that creates smoke poisons not only the planet, but you & i as well.

garbage does not come from the atmosphere, so it should not be put into the atmosphere.

Smoke produces carbon for goodness sake.

Far worse is that many plastics and other materials produce PCBs and other chemicals which cause cancer!!!  Quite a lot of foam products give off poison gases!!!  Many of the gases given off act as a catalyst in the atmosphere causing even more damage than carbon!!!

Not a good idea.  Burning plastic would turn it into a toxic gas and possibly  harm or kill  every living thing that breaths it.

We can't just burn all our garbage as the fumes that would be released in the smoke from that fire would be very harmful to the enviroment.  Haven't you heard of "tire fires" or what is emitted when you burn styrofoam.  No we can not burn all our garbage.  We have to learn to reuse things when we can.  And to take care when shopping about the packing that is involved in what we buy.  And recycle every scrape that we can so it does not end up in our garbage!!
