  5. I think they're pretty, but I'm not sure which should go where? Dagmara Astrid? Dagmar, sounds like some name for your pet, Ingrid sounds a swedish name, pretty how  Ingrid Celeste> Are these ok?Astrid sounds like a planet cluster, in space.

  6. Ingrid - someone exotic, islandy. very pretty and outgoing.

Astrid - someone who gets a lot of attention

Dagmar/Dagmara - Unpleasant, completely. Reminds me of horror of some sort.

    Love the name Ingrid.

  7. Ingrid - reminds me of an old woman

Astrid - reminds me of a star (and what will the nickname be - ***?)

Dagmar - reminds me of a dagger which reminds me of killing)

    Dagmara - the killers sister...lol

Sorry. Im into different names but these arent doing it for me. In my opinion, keep looking.

    Good Luck!!!

    and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

  8. 1. Ingrid -7/ 10 I think it's very classic. I wouldn't necessarily call it pretty or overtly feminine, but I do like it. It's one of those simple, no frills kind of names that some people gravitate to. I would categories it with Brynn, Maeve, Astrid, etc. It feels more current than a lot of the other names you've listed here because it's also the name of an old movie starlet. It also belongs in the category of Ava, Tallulah, Marilyn, etc. I think it's a fabulous choice for a first or middle name!

    2. Astrid 4/10. I really really want to like it. I just can't get over the way it's likely to be pronounced in an English speaking country: ***-trid. I know there's a blogger on babble.com whose name is Astrid, and it's said OZ-trid in her family. It's a lot nicer of a sound, but I don't think it's the logical leap most people would make when looking at it. I think it's a great name, but one that's probably best in the middle name spot.

    3. Dagmar - 2/10 I can't lie, I think this one exceptionally clunky sounding and masculine looking. I think it sounds a bit hillbillyish because of names like Delmar and Dagwood. I know it's a real name (though I did double check behindthename.com before I wrote anything, I can't lie) but it just sounds icky to me for so many reasons. If you love it, I would go with a middle name for sure.

    4. Dagmara -2/10 I don't think it's any worse than Dagmar, but it has all the same flaws. I  think it's at least very clearly feminine, but still not pretty sounding.

  9. Ingrid -- 9/10

    Astrid -- 8/10

    Dagmar -- 1/10

    Dagmara 2/10

I love both Ingrid and Astrid.  With either of these names, I would picture a a beautiful, intelligent, and independent woman.  She might have some Scandinavian ancestry; she would probably have blond or light brown hair.  Ingrid seems a bit more classic and feminine; Astrid seems a bit more edgy and creative.  I see either of these as more of a first name, though they could work as middle names as well.  The only reason Astrid earns 8/10 instead of 9/10 is that its most obvious nickname option is a bad word.  I don't see this as a huge drawback, though -- Astrid is only two syllables, so an Astrid would probably just go by her full name.

I strongly dislike both Dagmar and Dagmara.  They just don't sound pretty to American ears.  I would definitely picture someone foreign-born if I heard either of these names.  My mind immediately wants to picture an old, unattractive hag (perhaps because "Dag" rhymes with hag), but I know a little Scandinavian Dagmar probably wouldn't look like that.  If you're heart is set on using one of these and you live in an English-speaking country, then I would use Dagmara ONLY as a middle name.  I think you have much lovelier options in Astrid and Ingrid, though.

Best wishes, and I hope this helps!

    EDIT:

As far as middle names for Ingrid go, I don't think Dagmar is your best option (unless it's a family name so you have strong reasons for wanting to use it).  While another German or Scandinavian name might be your best option, Ingrid wouldn't sound strange with a common American middle name (like Ingrid Claire, Ingrid Grace, or Ingrid Marie).  You do get odd results, though, when you try to mix it with another creative name in a different style (like Ingrid MacKenzie).  Here are a few ideas, if you are looking for something a bit out of the ordinary.  All these are German or Scandinavian, and all of them are prettier than Dagmar, at least to my ears:

    Ingrid Elise

    Ingrid Adele

    Ingrid Anneliese

    Ingrid Lise

    Ingrid Helena

    Ingrid Amelie

    Ingrid Elisa

    Ingrid Eleanora

    Ingrid Johanna

    Ingrid Magdalena

    Ingrid Margareta

    Ingrid Sofia

    Ingrid Wilhelmina

    Ingrid Alexandra

    Ingrid Cecilia

    Ingrid Charlotta

    Ingrid Ellinor

    Ingrid Emilia

    Ingrid Gabriella

    Ingrid Josefina

    Ingrid Liv

    Ingrid Mathilda

    Ingrid Susanna

    Ingrid Viktoria

  10. 1.8 first name

    2.7middle name

    3.5middle name

    4.1 middle name

  11. When I was pregnant I would picture myself calling my child the different names.  Picture yelling for your child..."Ingrid, dinner is ready!"  And so on. It really is your personal preference.  You should not care what anyone else thinks.  You will know honestly which name is the one.  If you don't get that feeling from any of them keep searching!

  12. Don't like any of them. Sorry

  13. I like all of your names because they are different and unique.. When i hear Ingrid I think of structure and grace. Astrid is more versatile it can be the easy going go with the flow kind of girl its really a pretty and cool name. I'm not sure what impression to get from the last two because ive never heard them..

if i were you id pick Astrid Dagmar i like it it has a certain ring to it

  14. The only one that's not horrid is Astrid. So, I'll list them in order and tell you what they make me think of:

    1. Astrid- I imagine a pretty blonde with big blue eyes and tanned skin. I imagine her being fun, sociable, and very kind.

    2. Ingrid- I imagine a pale, skinny, eccentric girl who keeps to herself and is into wierd things- like witches and stuff.

    3. Dagmar and Dagmara are basically the same name, and I imagine foreigners.

  15. Ingrid ~ 3

    Astrid ~ 2

    Dagmar ~ 1

    Dagmara ~ 0

Sorry, but I really don't like the names. And if you do decide to use them, I would go with Ingrid. That is the best one there.

But then again, it is really not my taste when it comes to names, but maybe it is yours. I see the names more as middle names.

    Sorry!
