  1. It is quite cruel to send animals through the mail.

If your rat is not already pregnant, PLEASE do not allow her to get that way. There are already tons of rats without homes, they are not easy to place and you won't make a profit.

  2. you can but it will cause a big amount of stress on the rat and it is expensive try posting an ad on craigslist

  3. It's hard to get them into the envelope and they come out flat after they go through the stamping and sorting machine at the post office. Apart from that it's ok.

  4. you can not send them through the mail

  5. No you can't.  They are a live animals and that would be considered animal abuse.  And you can find rats at any pet store, so I doubt anyone not from your area would want one of yours when they can get one near them.  Put a notice in your paper.

  6. can u email me ur location??? i MAY be interested, no promises though.

  7. No you can't!

  8. If you do it the right way it is not necessarily mean and cruel. It wouldn't be sent in a package! They make special arrangements. They do it all the time. Where do you think pet stores get their rats?? I worked at a pet store and we got small animals sent to us all the time. Not to mention FISH even!

So if done the right way it is perfectly safe. However, they are absolutely right in saying that the last thing we need are more rats being bred. They are so overpopulated as it is, that everyone would be much better adopting one.

As excited as you would be to see your loved rat's offspring you should really think about the big picture. Also, god forbid if there was any sort of complication with the pregnancy and something happened to your rat you'd feel horrible.

  9. NO thats mean and cruel!!!

  10. if u send a rat in the mail it would chew through the box cuz rats chew through everything

  11. omg, I home so cause I would deffinately be interested, keep in touch k?

  12. If shipping through Canada Post:

Live animals cannot be mailed unless the mailer has entered a related Agreement with Canada Post prior to mailing. Bees, day-old chicks, parasites and leeches can be mailed under certain conditions (see section 4.2.2.8 “Eggs and Live Animals” of the “ABCs of Mailing” chapter).

Dead animals or their parts, including, for example, the whole carcass of a beaver or a mallard duck, the antlers of a deer, hides, pelts, nests or eggs, may be acceptable for mailing, provided all applicable requirements are met. For information, please contact the:
