last month or so, have seen rats on the lawn, and around the walls. I have complained to the landlord, who seems to be of the impression that it's my problem to solve!! What are my rights as a tenant-does anyone know the rights in Spain(Costa del Sol).

  1. get a cat or snake

  2. Rats/ Lizards/mice are all apart of life in the Med. You only have to leave a small amount of food about to attract them. Also if you live near the rubbish bins you will have rodents. Spent time in Med, and the cats and dog brought rats and lizards in to the villa on a regular basis.

  3. It's the local wild-life. You just need to get used to it. In London and most big cities, they are all over the place as well. You're never more than 20ft from a rat.

  4. Pest control is your responsibility.  Even if you put it in the lease, he will still shrug his shoulders. /

  5. If your landlord is not prepared to do anything about the problem, contact the local health authorities and inform them about the rats, the four legged  AND the two legged ones, and if all else fails, contact your embassy and see if they can bring pressure to bear.
