Rattle on Rear Pass. Side??

Question

I have a 2000 jetta 2.0 GL and I am hearing this rattle almost sounds like pop cans being thrown around in a bag or something but it sounds like it is coming from the rear passenger side. I shook the muffler even though it is on the rear driver side and that wasn't it so I am think maybe something in the suspension? You can only hear it with the windows down and not inside the car.

Any one got any ideas?

Perhaps you have some loose stones inside the wheel cover (us Americans incorrectly call them hub caps). They are not uncommon and can cause a bit of a racket.

Maybe worn stabilizer links or worn shocks (and maybe mounts too).
