Schalke striker Raul Gonzalez has vowed to stay at the club amidst speculations linking him with a move out of Bundesliga. The player has confirmed about his desire to continue playing in Germany and honour his deal with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues. Raul’s current contract
with the club expires at the end of this year’s campaign. The veteran striker has also rubbished off claims about his turbulent relations with manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ralf-c30492 Rangnick.
The 34-year-old admitted about interest from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 but has ruled out his departure this summer. He mentioned that it is up to the club officials to decide upon his transfer but he has no intentions of leaving Veltins Arena. The striker, at the
same time, also hoped for a better 2011/12 season. He urged his players to fight hard and give more than one hundred percent in order to achieve something in return.
The former Real Madrid player was left out of the club’s last league game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 which the Royal Blues won by a 4-2 margin. Schalke went behind early in the game and were trailing 2-0 at half time. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s effort in the 57th minute
revived hopes in the club’s rank as they went on to score three more in the space of 30 minutes to complete a commanding victory away from home. Raul was also left out of the club’s trip to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Finland-c2898, where they played the first leg of their UEFA Europa League
qualifier against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/HJK-c39532 Helsinki last Thursday.
The striker defended his omission by saying that he got injured while training and was forced to rule himself out of the game against Mainz. He has now declared himself fit and is raring to go in Schalke’s next game against the table toppers Borussia Monchengladbach.
The player concluded his talks by saying, "I will fulfil my contract. I am very proud to play in the Bundesliga. I feel at home here, my wife and my children are fully integrated into life in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904."
Raul will next be seen in action on Sunday, August 28, at Veltins Arena. The striker has already opened his account for this season, scoring against FC Koln on Saturday, August 13.
