Raul Ibanez looking to play another season for New York Yankees – MLB Update

According to nypost.com, Raul Ibanez is looking forward to play another Major League Baseball season with the New York Yankees. Just a week after 11-year old Ibanez left for school one morning, he convinced his dad to watch the highlights of this year’s
American League Division Series Game 3 between the Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles.
Ibanez had a decent time on the plate last season as he hit .240 with .761 OPS, 19 home-runs and 62 RBI’s. The left hander is one of the most consistent and reliable hitters in the game. He has the ability play his natural game under pressure that makes
him an asset for the Yankees.
Ibanez may be 40-years-old, he is athletic and agile. In addition to his impressive hitting skills, Ibanez brings great value to the table with his strong defensive technique. The veteran is hoping the fun will continue in 2013. Although he is in free agency
right now, he hopes to secure a deal with the Yankees for the next season as well.
“I got goose bumps watching it,” the elder Raul Ibanez told The Post Saturday in a telephone interview, “because when you’re playing and when you watch it happen, it’s two completely different things.”
“You realize what a neat thing it was to be a part of something like that, as a Yankee. Wearing the pinstripes while you’re in the postseason and being a part of that. All of that stuff. It was really magical and a lot of fun.”
“If I get an opportunity to play for the Yankees again,” he said in an interview. “It would be fantastic.”
In an interview with nypost.com, Ibanez said he is looking forward to an opportunity to play for the Yankees again. He further added that it will be fantastic to stay in pinstripes. However, firstly, he wants to pay back the community that held him in the
arms. On Tuesday, November 29 at Tilles Centre Concert Hall in Greenvale, he is expected to make a special appearance along with actor Chazz Palminteri and host ESPN Radio broadcaster Michael Kay.
The concert in intended to help the victims of super storm Sandy that caused massive destructions in several parts of the country. Tickets can be bought at Ticketmaster, the source claimed.
Ibanez lived in the Bronx for one year before his family decided to move to Miami. Yankees’ community consultant Ray Negron (who is also one of the benefit’s organisers) played a big part in helping Ibanez become one of the most active players in the community
last season. In ALDS Game 3, with Yankees trailing by one run, he smacked a one out homer against Orioles’ closer Jim Johnson.
