Schalke 04’s striker and Real Madrid legend, Raul Gonzalez, is still confused about his future at the German club.
Horst Heldt, sporting director of the German club, believes that despite the fact that the Spanish striker is doing phenomenally well, he is still unsure about his future and has not signed a new contract as yet.
Known to be one of the best strikers in the history of Spanish football, Raul Gonzalez, has only a few months left on the deal which binds him to Veltins Arena. Since the two parties are not coming to a solid conclusion, it is believed that Raul will leave
the club as the current season comes to an end.
Schalke 04 are ready to offer Raul a one-year extension; however, the Spaniard does not look satisfied with the offer and is expected to leave as he has not committed his future to the Miners.
While speaking to Kicker, the club’s sporting direct, Horst Heldt said:
“There is still no trend, there is still no decision.”
“For Raul it is a landmark decision. He has to talk with his family about whether is makes sense or not.”
While signing for Schalke 04, Raul settled for a two-year contract with the German club. However, with his form not yet betraying him and the Spaniard finding the back of the net more than often, the former Los Blancos captain might consider signing a year’s
extension in the future.
With Raul’s age deceiving him, the German side are not ready to pay him a lot; however, despite such hitches, they do not want to show Raul the exit door as he brings them the much-needed goals throughout the season.
Raul is not the only player in Schalke 04’s starting line-up who has been having issues with his contract. The Dutch star, Klaas Jan Huntelaar, is also an asset to the club and they will definitely do anything to keep their best player in the team.
