Rav4 Shaking As Speed increases?

Question

Ok I was Punching something into my GPS and Hit a Curb Kinda hard. When i hit 40+ mph the car starts to shaked side to side. What did i do to my Suv

Steel rim could be bent, and or the alignment.  Rim around $100.00.  Alignment around $100.00 the most.  Alignment shop can do both, dealer charge more.  Wheel balance weight felt off may cause the shake too.

1.  Nobody NEEDS to have GPS.  The human race has survived for hundreds of thousands of years without it.

2.  Tinkering with stuff like that while driving can be dangerous - what if it wasn't jsut a curb you had hit.  What if it was a person?

3.  You bent at least the wheel and maybe some suspension parts - hence the vibration.  Your GPs unit just got a lot more expensive. Take it in and have the damage checked.

Have it inspected at an alignment shop.  You may have just ripped a tire belt. This would cause the imbalance.  This is the cheapest problem to fix. A tire shop will be able to tell, also.

Bent wheel/damaged tire first guess.  Have the wheels put on a wheel balancer.   A bad tire can be diagnosed on the car.  A wheel balancer can show up a bent wheel right away.  SOMETIMES a bent wheel can be balanced out.  Ans get rid of that GPS you can't handle it.
