  1. If you want real NFL and other sports discussion join http://www.realsportstalk.net/forums/ind...

Its alot better then talking on yahoo...

  2. the 49ers scouts should all get fired for picking alex smith,i think alex smith is worser that ryan leaf,I'm a big ninner fan and its been awful for me to watch alex smith the last three years,i cant stand to watch him for even one more quarter thank god we have a new quarterback,49ers have the worst scouts i think they where in special ed when they went to school.

  3. Until Alex Smith overthrew Arnaz Battle which ended up being an interception I defended him, but seriously c'mon, high school kids could have floated in to Battle for a touchdown. Smith was lucky when he threw a touchdown, because Smith just kinda threw it up there and Bajema just snatched it from the defenders. BTW we need to get rid of the Yorks, either let Eddie control the team again, or let Steve Young buy the 49ers. Yee!

  4. I agree I hate when teams pick people from mid major conferences kinda like how Arizona did with Antonio Cromartie from Tennesse State

  5. I heard Smith lost his job as the starting quarterback to O'Sullivan. And his preseason games are awful. Niners wasted money investing in Smith, I don't see what scouts saw in this guy.

  6. Preach on brutha, I never liked the pick.  I heard a rumor they might trade Smith to Green Bay and get Brian Brahm.  O'Sullivan seems solid, and he could turn out to be the solution for the next couple years.  For gods sakes, Smith went 6-17 last week against the Bears third stringers!

  7. First, let me make a small case for Alex Smith. Ever since he was a rookie, he's been thrown into the fire since Day 1. 4 offensive coordinators in 4 years is extremely hard, not to mention he went from one drastic style to the next. He went from Mike McCarthy's West Coast offense in 2005, to Norv Turner's numerical system in 2006. They changed coordinators in 2007, but can't name him right now. Now he's going into Mike Martz' highly complex vertical passing game. That is almost an impossible situation to win in. Not to mention a few of his starters were hurt, and the defense was very bad at times.

Now, putting all the offensive systems and injuries aside, he still should AT LEAST be able to start recognizing defenses, learning to read them, and beat them with effective passes or scrambling. I personally think he's gun-shy now, because of the constant changes and all the sacks he's taken.

Remember, at first, Aaron Rodgers appeared to be the lock for the 49ers in 2005 draft. But people saw Smith in that spread offense at Utah, had a private throwing practice with basic plays at Utah, and he suddenly became instantly hyped. They might have got trapped in the hype.

  8. yo he had to play against the NFLs best secondary tonight, give him a break

and raidersfolyfe... Antonio Cromartie played on florida state, and went to the Chargers. Could you possibly be thinking of his cousin?
