firstly you need a good dj...

lights,scanners/a few big red/blue cans,strobes,uv,lasers are a must,as is a smoke machine....

then theres the music....depends on who your playing to,youll know when you hit the spot cos it will erupt,just keep them high,then bring them down slow....mellowed out then ram it up again...some older ravers like the old skool as do some young'ns...

sound...plenty base and mid,but not much top...dont go flat out clipping the amps bring it up slow...and make sure it doesn't doom to much...oh,and enjoy.....

Hoop a glow stick. Then open and close your mouth real fast while you're dancing, giving the effect of a bobble-head strobe-light.

Seriously though, never organized a rave before but there's a couple of common sense things I can think of.

Like.. supply an @$$ load of water. Save yourself a law-suit... if people are still doing that these days. You'll probably want some too..

You can never have too many couches and pillows for chill-out lounges..

Security...  If you're trying to make a couple bucks off your party, you won't if you get fined for.. cough.. anything shady..

Oh yeah...   call me. I'll spin some drum n bass or glitch/beat for ya..

My advice would be to forget about it.  Raves are stupid.

you need glow sticks their minttt!

they have UV lights in clubs so no point really.

strobe lights are good and glow sticks can get messy so it's up to you.
